LaLiga: Official: Real Betis sign Alex Moreno
LaLiga Left-back has penned a five-year contract
After a long period of negotiations, Alex Moreno is finally a Real Betis player, with the Seville club officially announcing the deal on Wednesday afternoon.
Los Verdiblancos made clear through a statement on their club website that the 26-year-old had indeed arrived from Rayo Vallecano, signing a five-year contract which is due to run until June 2024.

A transfer fee of 7.6 million euros was agreed between the two clubs, with a further million euros available to Rayo if performance-based objectives are met.
Rayo will also receive a small percentage of any future transfer fee, and it’s understood that these details were one of the sticking points which saw these negotiations drag on and on.
Getting this deal over the line was crucial for Betis, especially after losing Junior Firpo, and any further business done before the transfer deadline will likely be the result of circumstance or a surprise opportunity.
Moreno was actually due to sign for the club in the summer of 2018, yet those in power at the Estadio Benito Villamarin decided that they didn’t want to sign a player who could block Junior‘s development. Now, the 26-year-old will battle for a place in the side with another new addition in Alfonso Pedraza.
