‘We don’t fear them’ Wolves fans have their say ahead of Manchester United clash

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans will file in to Molineux tonight hoping to see their side beat Manchester United for the third time in 2019.

United return to a stadium that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer compared to a ‘second home’ in the build up. But they have received no home comforts in this calendar year.

Back in March, they made the short journey down the motorway twice in a matter of weeks and on both times suffered a humbling experience.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Raul Jimenez celebrates

A ferocious Wolves dumped them out of the FA Cup first, before the same sides played in the league, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men again coming out on top.

The visit of United is remarkably Wolves first game of five in less than two weeks as the harsh reality of twinning Europa League commitments with the Premier League campaign rears its head.

Wolves will have 72 hours between the game in front of the Sky cameras on Monday night and the first leg of their Europa play-off with Torino in Turin.

But that has done little to temper expectation of creating another memorable night in WV1. We’ve taken a look at social media to get a flavour of how the old gold faithful are feeling ahead of tonight’s game.

@PhilWeatherill: Saw us tear United apart twice at Molineux last season, hoping for a repeat

@DavidRCPorter: Feel like we could beat united on any given day, don’t believe there is much in the teams but I’m worried about the law of averages > bogey side

@Dwarfio: Can we beat United three times in a row? Not sure, but I can’t remember another time in my life when other team’s fans are actually making us favourites

@Finners009: 2-1 one nil down at half time to martial. Neves and Jimenez to win it

@GazHughes89: Shows how far we’ve come, United at home would always be one of the biggest games, if not the biggest, of the season. Monday nights game isn’t even our biggest game of the week.
