‘Very’ Manager makes this claim about Aston Villa atmosphere

Eddie Howe has admitted his players found it difficult in the Villa Park atmosphere despite the away side coming away with all three points.

A capacity crowd ramped up the noise on Saturday as Aston Villa played their first home match in the Premier League for more than three years.

Bournemouth’s early double, through Josh King and Harry Wilson, meant that Douglas Luiz’s stunner for Villa in the second half counted for nothing.

Nevertheless, Howe was impressed with what he saw – and heard – in the stands.

“I have to say Villa made it a really good game. I thought they played very well. I think they have some really good players. And that’s why I think it’s a big win to come here and perform the way we did.

“I think the home support are very good for Aston Villa. I think that was something we had to contend with and deal with. I thought in the main, we did that pretty well.”

Villa supporters will be hoping to see their side bounce back when Everton visit B6 on Friday.
