Did you hear what Wolves fans were chanting amid Ruben Neves goal drama?
Wolves fans may prove to be this season’s trendsetters after VAR sparked controversy once again.
With the home side trailing 1-0 to Manchester United courtesy of Anthony Martial’s first-half strike, Ruben Neves did what he does best.
The midfielder’s beautifully-curled effort crashed in off the bar and sent Molineux into raptures.
But VAR looked like it was about to spoil the celebrations after checking for an offside in the build up.
Ultimately the goal stood, but amid the check Wolves fans begun chanting “f*** VAR” – and plenty of people on Twitter are behind them.
“Wolves still singing f*** VAR after being given the goal. That’s the mentality I want to see,” claimed one.
“F*** VAR chant you love to see it,” tweeted another.
“Credit to the Wolves crowd here. F*** VAR” said a third.
“If VAR ever makes it to the lower leagues I am finding meself another hobby,” suggested a fourth.
Moments later, United missed a penalty, although there was perhaps a case to suggest VAR should’ve intervened.
Manchester City and Brighton were on the receiving end of VAR decisions that cut short celebrations at the weekend.
The Etihad crowd were particularly incensed after Gabriel Jesus’ goal was ruled out in stoppage time.
