Zinedine Zidane on collision course with Real Madrid supremo over Neymar transfer
With the transfer window still open in Europe, the future of the Brazil international remains up in the air.
An extended stay in the city of lights looks highly unlikely. Relations with the superstar forward and senior figures at PSG have become increasingly strained.
He was also caught on camera in an awkward standoff with Kylian Mbappe during the Trophee des Champions celebrations.
PSG stunned world football when they smashed the world transfer record to acquire him in 2017.
But after two topsy turvy seasons with him on the books, they are now keen to get rid.
Real – and his former club Barcelona – have been heavily linked with swoops.
Perez views signing the 27-year-old as a statement of intent and would love to get one over Barca.
It’s suggested Zidane could win the power struggle behind the scenes.
The duo clashed over Gareth Bale, with the Wales international now seemingly set to stay in Spain.
Perez doesn’t want another row with the club legend as he looks to make Real serious title contenders again.
ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop claims Real could broker a Bale and Neymar swap deal that keep all parties happy.
“I still feel that PSG might be the best fit [for Bale] for a number of reasons,” he said.
“Maybe it suits Bale similarly [at PSG].
“I don’t think [Bale] can be the player he once was.
“Yeah, because of injuries and once you cross 30 things start to go down a little bit, slowly albeit.
“But maybe in France, given the disparity between PSG and everybody else, he doesn’t have to exert himself in the way that he did in Spain and certainly would have to if he returned to England. I think that makes sense.”
