‘Worst team in the league’ Nottingham Forest fans savage Birmingham City after win
Nottingham Forest fans were left less than impressed with the exploits of Birmingham City on Saturday.
Despite a positive start to the league campaign, which had seen Pep Clotet’s men go unbeaten, they were thrashed 3-0 by Forest at The City Ground.
Goals from Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabban and Michael Dawson condemned Blues to their first defeat of the season.
On what was a disappointing afternoon in the East Midlands, the travelling supporters were left suitably concerned by the abject performance.
Blues players held a post match meeting to discuss what went wrong on a sobering afternoon.
Here’s how the delighted Forest fans rated, and more accurately didn’t rate, Birmingham City’s performance.
@JethroFairley: I’m not getting ahead of myself after yesterday’s result. Granted we played very well and we ought to have won about 7-0, but Birmingham were appalling. Although in recent years teams like that have comfortably taken points from us. So I’m happy we’re becoming more ruthless
@MustBlank: Hi @EFL, genuine question; please can we play Birmingham City every week?
@mrtoplis89: Forget that Birmingham are a poor team, that was a great team performance today, Watson looks a different player this year, Samba Sow & Semedo look great together!

@MattyPNFFC: I feel sorry for the Birmingham fans if they’ve got that to look forward to all season. #nffc are nowhere near the finished article and tore them to shreds.
@winoian: what a performance #nffc birmingham were poor, but I think our superb midfield made them look poor. Didn’t think it would work when I saw the lineup, but Lamouchi got that spot on!! Bravo!!
@jmchambers1975: We were fantastic today, Should of been 7-0, Yet all i hear is how bad Birmingham were, You can only beat what’s in front of you, And we did that in style…..Onto Charlton
@kurtsloane4: Not a bad performance. Birmingham are the worst team in the league so don’t get too excited!
@Apapadopoulos1: Albeit against a pony Birmingham side, Cash looked great today. The guy has every single attribute to be a great RB. How some fans have never been able to see his potential in the position is beyond me. Hell of a shift from all the lads today.
@RedBasford: A good win today even if it was against a poor Birmingham City side means we’ve had a reasonably good start to the season
@ArnoJay: Good result today but Birmingham were poor. Watson, Dawson and Ameobi stand outs for me.
@WaynoSmith: Absolute pleasure watching Forest today. The score line flatters Birmingham. Great performances all over the pitch but Watson and Ameobi in particular who were wrote off before the season by some proving once again these #nffc timeline experts haven’t a clue
