Chelsea make embarrassing gaffe in Liverpool Super Cup clash – Jorginho won’t be happy

Chelsea fans are in stitches after spotting a typo on Jorginho’s shirt during the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool.

Last season’s Europa League winners Chelsea traveled to Istanbul to take on their Premier League rivals and newly-crowned European champions in Liverpool.

Frank Lampard opted to make a few changes for the clash after seeing his team suffer a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United in his first Premier League game in charge at the weekend.

Jorginho’s name was spelt wrong on his Chelsea shirt against Liverpool

But Jorginho, an ever present under previous boss Maurizio Sarri last season, was once again named in the starting line-up in his usual central midfield role.

The Italy international was wearing his usual No. 5 shirt for the game with Chelsea in their deep blue home colours.

But eagled eyed viewers watching on television noticed something strange about the his name on the back of his shirt.

Instead of spelling it Jorginho, it was written as ‘Jorghino’, and fans have trolled the club for the gaffe.

“Think the Chelsea kit man needs to check Jorginho’s name properly,” one fan wrote on social media.

“This is how they spelled Jorginho’s name on the back of his shirt tonight. Brilliant job by the kitman,” said another.

While another wrote: “Jorginho’s f***ing name is spelled wrong on his jersey hahahahaha what a joke.”

“You had one job mate and you still f***ed it up,” joked another fan.

Liverpool’s infamous front three are causing trouble for Chelsea in the second-half

Lampard’s men lead 1-0 at half-time in Istanbul after Christian Pulisic’s superb through ball opened the Liverpool defence and found its way to Olivier Giroud, who produced an excellent finish past Adrian.

Pulisic came close to doubling their lead, but he was ruled offside. But Liverpool came roaring back in the second half, equalising just two minutes in through Sadio Mane.

And they look the most likely to take the lead at Vodafone Park, the home of Turkish side Besiktas.
