European club targets a shock transfer for Aston Villa star – reports
Turkish club Besiktas are targeting a move for Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia, according to reports.
Ivory Coast international Kodjia has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park under Dean Smith with record signing Wesley Moraes now the manager’s first choice.
Wesley, who joined the club for £22million from Club Brugge in June, started the Premier League opener at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday before Kodjia replaced him with 16 minutes to go.

Smith has allowed Scott Hogan to join Stoke City on loan which leaves him with three strikers in Wesley, Kodjia and youngster Keinan Davis until January.
And, according to Ortacizgi.com, Besiktas are keen on luring Kodjia away from Villa this month. European clubs are still able to conduct business until September 2.
Despite Besiktas’ interest Villa are unlikely to offload Kodjia unless an irresistible offer is put forward as it would leave Smith with just two recognised strikers, one of whom in Davis has just 18 senior starts under his belt.
