Chelsea provide triple injury update ahead of Manchester United fixture
Kante, Antonio Rudiger and Willian are all back in training ahead of the first match of the season, but it remains to be seen if any of the trio will make the final match day squad.
“We have Kante fit, whether we have him match fit I’m not sure,” Lampard said. “Rudiger and Willian have been training, but possibly Sunday is too soon for him.”
Chelsea‘s summer transfer ban means Lampard is set to give youth a chance in the coming season, and he is confident that they have what it takes to bolster his first-team squad.
Lampard added: “I know the talent they have. I love them as lads as they bring enthusiasm and quality. In that I include (Reece) James and (Fikayo) Tomori, and with (Chrisitian) Pulisic coming in. Youth isn’t everything, but I am expectant of what they can do.”
