Barcelona: Iniesta: Kubo and Abe have a lot of potential
Barcelona Discussed the Japanese youngsters
Andres Iniesta is enjoying life in Japan, where he has just been made an ambassador for LaLiga Icons and where his Vissel Kobe side will take on Barcelona in a pre-season friendly.
The midfielder spoke about collaborating with LaLiga at an event attended by league president Javier Tebas.
“It’s a matter of pride and I’ll try to help in whatever way I can,” he said at being made an ambassador.
“For me, the Spanish league is the best in the world.
“I was able to win it nine times and enjoy all the stadiums and teams each weekend.
“I’ll try to keep collaborating from the outside.
“I’ll try to promote respect, sportsmanship and teamwork.”
He went on to discuss his new life in Japan.
“We’re really happy in Japan,” the World Cup winner said.
“I do miss the day to day things, but I left because I’d reached a point where I needed to be motivated by something else.
“We’ve loved it here since the first day we arrived.
“We’re trying to get used to this new culture and new routine.”
“They both have a lot of potential, even if there is still a lot for them to learn,” he stated.
“When a player is good then the player can perform in any league.
“Many Japanese players have played in Europe.
“There’s no problem if you’re a good player.”
Finally, he spoke of the strange feelings he has as he prepares to play against Barcelona for the first time ever.
“I’ll try to pass the ball to my new teammates and not get confused,” he said of the upcoming friendly.
“We’ll try to enjoy the day and compete as best we can.”
