Barcelona: Griezmann: I’m very keen to play
The Frenchman spoke of his desire to get on the pitch on Monday.
“These will be my first minutes with this shirt and I am very keen to play with my new teammates,” he said at a press conference.
“I want to enjoy myself with this dressing room, both on and off the pitch.”
The player was also asked about his exit from Atletico Madrid and he reflected on his departure.
“That’s a club where I gave my all and I am calm about it,” he said of the tension and legal sniping.
“All I’m worried about now is training well to learn the coach’s tactics.
“I did everything as well as possible with respect to Diego Simeone, my former teammates and Atletico Madrid to leave on good terms.
“It’s an issue for them.
“I am calm and all that matters is starting well with Barcelona.”
Griezmann was also asked about his relationship with Diego Simeone, who recently said that he still loves the Frenchman.
“Our relationship was more than a coach and a player, we’re like family,” he said.
“I got on very well with him.
“He was important for what I did on the pitch and for my private life.
“I owe him a lot and I love him a lot.
“Our relationship will carry on, even after retirement.”
