Barcelona: Alain Griezmann: Antoine joining Barcelona is the high point of his career
Barcelona Forward’s father delighted with transfer
Antoine Griezmann‘s father believes the forward’s career has hit new heights by joining Barcelona from Atletico Madrid this summer.
A World Cup winner with France just a year ago, Griezmann belatedly completed his move to the Camp Nou this month, which came as a great source of pride for his family.
“It was the apotheosis,” Alain Griezmann said.
“Barcelona are the best of the best.
“All of the impressive players who’ve passed through there, their impressive football identity. They’re gigantic, fantastic, it’s hard to describe how I feel,” he told Barca Inside.
Alain was evidently thrilled by the move, and couldn’t hide his excitement when talking about his son playing alongside Lionel Messi.
“It’s the collective, it’s football, it’s Messi,” he said when asked what Barcelona meant to him.
“He’s the best in the world and he thinks of others, he gives assists, he lets others shoot.
“It’s beautiful to watch.”
Griezmann left many fans at the Wanda Metropolitano and the Camp Nou frustrated by his behaviour, but the player’s father isn’t too troubled by those upset.
“I’m not afraid,” he said.
“As Antoine says, he’ll do his talking on the pitch.
“He’s made mistakes and he knows that, but everything will be settled on the pitch.”
