Jose Mourinho gives blunt response when asked about Chelsea appointing Frank Lampard | Football | Sport
Lampard was appointed Chelsea boss at the beginning of the month following weeks of speculation that he was going to take the helm at Stamford Bridge.
In the meantime, the Portuguese has been taking some downtime, visiting various events and making the odd public appearance.
And on Saturday, Mourinho was spotted at Silverstone where he watched the British Grand Prix qualifying results play out.
But Mourinho was having none of it.
He replied: ““I don’t speak about football. My football? I have no football now.
“I am but I will wait for the right club, for the right project.
“And, in the meantime, I am doing things I like to do.
“I prefer to work, but I like other sports and this is a good opportunity to enjoy.”
Last season when Mourinho was in charge of United and Lampard was Derby boss, the two sides drew each other in the Carabao Cup and it was protege Lampard who came out on top.
Lampard’s Blues next head to Japan on their tour where they’ll face the sterner test of Barcelona.
