Man Utd may block Romelu Lukaku joining Inter Milan because of failed transfer | Football | Sport
However, Solhekol claims United’s failed bid for Inter winger Ivan Perisic in 2017 could put a stop to Lukaku moving to the San Siro.
“There is some sort of bad blood between the two clubs,” Solhekol said.
“They offered €45million, Inter Milan said ‘we will not let him go unless we get €50m’ and they refused to sell him over just €5m.
United are said to want to recoup the £75m they paid Everton for Lukaku in 2017.
But Solhekol says Inter are nowhere near matching that valuation at the moment.
“Manchester United are saying ‘we want at least £75m’.
“That adds up to £63m, still short of Manchester United’s valuation and they’d be getting a world-class striker of an initial payment of just £9m.
“It would be like me walking into a Ferrari dealership and asking the salesman ‘how much is that Ferrari 488?’.
“The salesman’s saying to me ‘that is £200,000 sir’ and me saying to him ‘what if I offer to pay you £20,000 and take it on loan for two years and then in two years time, give you another £20,000’, what do you think he would say to me?”
Lukaku has scored 42 goals for United in 96 appearances in all competitions.
