Man Utd react to Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku offer with two players involved in swap deal
The Belgian’s playing time has been limited to appearances off the bench and on the wing, with Solskjaer preferring Marcus Rashford through the middle.
And it seems Lukaku has been told he’s welcome to leave the club this summer.
Inter Milan are the frontrunners and have already had a loan bid knocked back.
And according to Corriere dello Sport, it’ll take a bid of €70m (£62m) to tempt United into selling.
Inter have previously baulked at United’s demands and have attempted to lower the fee by offering players in return.
The report claims the Serie A side have suggested both Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan in swap deals.
However, United aren’t interested and want the cash.
“Lukaku has been told he’s welcome to leave the club this summer.”
Solskjaer is keen to strengthen this summer and may have to sell players in order to fund his spending spree.
Daniel James is United’s only incoming so far having joined from Swansea for £15m.
And the Welshman will be joined by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is expected to be confirmed today.
The right-back will arrive from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £50m.
The pair represent United’s renewed transfer strategy of targeting young, homegrown talent rather than marquee signings.
Sean Longstaff is another player in their sights, while Harry Maguire could fill the void at centre-back.
And Bruno Fernandes is also a target, although Tottenham and Liverpool are reportedly interested.
