The Foxes are reportedly willing to sell Maguire this summer if any club matches their huge £80m-plus asking price.
Recent reports suggested that the Red Devils are willing to spend just £40m on the England international, which is just half of what Leicester apparently value him at.
City have always been mentioned as a potential suitor for Maguire as they look to replace the influential Vincent Kompany, and now the Daily Star state that they have won the race.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly sanctioned a £65million bid for the centre-half which should be enough to see a deal tied up by next week.
City are apparently willing to match United’s wage offer and have the edge due to playing in the Champions League, and Maguire’s medical is even apparently scheduled in.
Maguire has established himself as one of the most consistent defensive performers in the top flight, making 31 Premier League appearances last season, scoring three times.
He has also become one of the first name’s on England boss Gareth Southgate’s team sheet since arriving at Leicester from Hull in a £17million in 2017.
