‘Circus’ Birmingham City fans respond to Xuandong Ren’s Garry Monk claims

It’s fair to say that the dust hasn’t settled on the shock Birmingham City sacking of Garry Monk , it could be some time before things calm down.

Blues CEO Xuandong Ren has spoken to media outlets in an attempt to lift the lid on why Garry Monk.

It’s fair to say that the interviews which can be read here , have ignited a fierce debate among the Blues fanbase.

We have taken a look at a variety of social media posts and tweets to see what the fans have been saying after the interviews by the CEO.

Here’s a snapshot of opinions from the fanbase.

Chris Skudder: Long struggle ahead for #bcfc .But one thing will outlast any ownership, and that’s the heart and soul of the club, the fans. Everyone has a voice. Use it. Not the first regime to ruin a club, won’t be the last. Crying shame.

Craig: Monk played a style that was befitting to the players he had at his disposal these owners don’t have a clue

Andy Moore: Seem like absolute rubbish, wants to play a better style of football – what’s the Manager suppose to do when the owners recklessness leads to a transfer embargo and a points deduction

Stu KRO: I fear another Blackpool  or Charlton…. what decent manager would come to this circus of a club.

Jay White: I cannot believe Garry “didn’t care about the job.” He did faaaaar too much to improve the club in ways that you can’t see from the stands, watch on TV, hear on the radio, or dig up on social media to not care about the work.

Paul Jones: The only way for us to get promoted is to spend at least 25 to 30 million on top quality players. And not sack the best manager we have had in years. Why do we always get owners that don’t understand football and have no interest in the fans of our great club. If they think our young kids are anywhere near good enough to play in our first team then they are definitely and totally crazy.

Bond Billy: We may never know the truth, we need Mulder and Scully the truth is out there, KRO

Mitchell Lowe: Load of rubbish

Tony Owen: Why is it only at Blues that a successful manager is not allowed to manage the way he chooses, we have owners who have regularly proved their lack of knowledge of Championship football, once again they feel they know best and care not for the stability of the club or what the fans think, it’s a power trip for them and of course a pay out to Monk which could’ve been spent on players.

John Watkins: Whatever the reason for us losing Gary Monk; the fact remains that BCFC and the fans have been hit again after we thought the dark days were over.

Cliff Meason: dont trust any word the board says, period, KRO.

Craig Wright: I actually don’t see the problem with this. In today’s day and age most clubs are lined up with one specific agent. Also look at the extortionate agent fees that are being paid. It could be correct and Monk trusts that agent to get the right deal for the club and get the right player in. It’s a nothing story for me. As for Monk didn’t care about his job clearly that’s a lie as he clearly gave a sh** at the games and press conferences and the out of football work he did with the community….

Jordan Bohemia: Am I the only one looking at the bigger picture here. He’s been sacked by 3 clubs for the exact same reason because of ‘different views’. Pep Clotet was the brains behind our performances last season and now he’s the man at the front. I’m gutted he’s gone course I am but I’m excited to see what Pep can do with us next season now he’s the front man

Simon Lamb: What is interesting is the lack of commentary from the footballing world, our players and moreover the current staff that formed Gary’s team. Either no loyalty or didn’t agree with the position GM obviously took. My thought is that GM must have overstepped the mark and as owners it was unpalatable. Any reasonable person on both sides would have tried to find resolution but it is obvious from the outcome this had been brewing for some time on both sides of the equation.KRO
