West Ham ‘respond to Man City Declan Rice transfer enquiry’

West Ham have told Manchester City that midfielder Declan Rice is not for sale, according to reports.

City are looking for midfield reinforcements, and while the likes of Rodri and Tanguy Ndombele have been more strongly linked, there have been some reports suggesting Rice is on their radar.

Rice had a fine season for West Ham, becoming a first team regular and making his England debut.

And Sky Sports say his form prompted City to make ‘initial enquiries’ for the 20-year-old ahead of a possible transfer bid.

But the report says City were told that Rice is not for sale, with neighbours Man United also being told the same thing.

City were said to be interested in Rice as a back up plan should their proposed move for Rodri fall through.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy caused some excitement on Tuesday as they suggested City were preparing a bid for Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, City were readying a ‎€95m bid for the Napoli defender, but the Telegraph have claimed there is no basis to the reports.

United have been linked with Koulibaly for a long time, and the Gazzetta report added that Napoli would be forced to accept City’s bid in order to reinvest the money into new players.

Finally, reports in Spain are suggesting that Joao Felix has agreed terms with Atletico Madrid and completed a medical at the Wanda Metropolitano.

City have been linked with the £105m player, but he has reportedly chosen Atletico – according to Onda Cera (via Daily Mail).
