‘Panic stations’ Manchester United fans make transfer demand as Aston Villa eye move
Aston Villa are still waiting on Manchester United’s plan for Axel Tuanzebe in the hope of bringing the defender back to the club.
But United fans are demanding he is given a chance in the first team at Old Trafford amid reports that they are targeting Issa Diop from West Ham United.
If a deal is completed, it could offer Villa renewed hope of re-signing Tuanzebe after he helped them to win promotion to the Premier League.

Recovering from an injury set-back midway through the campaign, the 21-year-old regained his place in the middle of Dean Smith’s defence as Villa went on a brilliant run from March to seal play-off glory.
He struck up a formidable partnership with Tyrone Mings and Villa are keen to sign both players to keep the pair together for the top-flight.
United kept close tabs on Tuanzebe throughout his loan stint and plan to use pre-season to evaluate whether he is ready to assume a senior role.
And it seems that United supporters would rather see the England under-21 international make the step up instead of or letting him go or shelling out a big fee for Diop.
Here’s what they have been saying:
@hardonmelvin: Give Tuanzebe a chance! No way we’re taking that risk. And that considering Madrid want to pay nothing more than 100m for Pogba. West Ham/Leicester don’t know the value of players.
@Smchugh589: Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Lindelof/Bailly, Shaw – not a bad defence actually should there be no more defensive signings.
@Utdnation84: Axel Tuanzebe coming back from a loan spell after a fantastic season with Villa and with Ole putting much emphasis on the youth. It is going to be interesting especially if #mufc brings in another new central defender.
@Oldtraffordc: I’m still till curious about our interest for Diop, because yes it is huge but he is the same age as Tuanzebe. What do we do with him? A properly structured club would think of that, but we are making bids on all players with good whoscored ratings.
@RedSources: Is it just me who would rather us give Axel an opportunity than have our pants pulled down by these clubs. Why would we spend £60-90m on an average CB? Feels like panic stations at Old Trafford.
