Man Utd transfer news: David De Gea expected Cardiff defeat to be final match for club | Football | Sport
The 28-year-old has so far snubbed every offer of a new contract, with the shot-stopper seeking pay parity with Alexis Sanchez.
PSG have long been considered frontrunners in the race to sign the Manchester United star.
And The Sun say that, after the 2-0 defeat to Cardiff in May, De Gea thought he would be on his way out.
PSG have cooled their interest with transfer bigwig Leonardo instead preferring AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Donnarumma has also been linked with a move to United in case De Gea were to jump ship.
And as has Jan Oblak, whose stock is at an all-time high after another fine season with Atletico Madrid.
News of De Gea staying comes as a boost for United at a time where several stars may be shown the door.
Paul Pogba hinted he wants out at the weekend, saying: “After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well, I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.
“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
And Romelu Lukaku could also leave, with the Belgium international recently talking up Antonio Conte.
Conte wants to sign the United star having just succeeded Luciano Spalletti at Inter Milan.
And Lukaku said: “Good that Conte went to Inter, for me, he is the best coach in the world.
“As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still cannot communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract.
“I am a big Serie A fan, those close to me know that I have always wanted to play in the English league and in the Italian one, I love Italy.
“The club and my agent will talk about it but I have already made my decision.”
