Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi is only willing to commit his future to the club if one condition is met, a report claims.
The young England star missed the back end of the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon, with some believing it could affect Bayern Munich’s stance on targeting the player for a summer move.
Speculation has been rife about Hudson-Odoi’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge, with Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness recently revealing that the German champions still hold an interest in the 18-year-old.
According to a report from The Sun, talks are ongoing over a new five-year deal but the Blues are delaying talks slightly due to uncertainty over their managerial situation.
Hudson-Odoi is also ‘playing hardball’ after ‘growing frustrated at his lack of appearances in the first half of last season’.
He has been offered the No.10 shirt vacated by Hazard, but the report goes on the claim that the one big assurance the teenager wants is simply about game time.
He wants Chelsea to show that he will get regular minutes once he recovers from injury, with Christian Pulisic ready to arrive in a £58m deal from Dortmund.
A Blues apparently told them: “It’s never been about money for Callum, it’s far more about his development. Chelsea is the team he supported as a boy and he wants to play for them.
“But if he can’t play enough, he won’t improve — and that doesn’t suit him or the club.”
