Why Man Utd or Tottenham could sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale for FREE this summer
Bale has repeatedly stated that he is happy at the Bernabeu and has no desire to leave.
But manager Zinedine Zidane is adamant that the attacker will play part no in his plans and wants him gone.
The Frenchman yesterday issued a thinly-veiled threat to Real Madrid bigwigs over his right for total control over team affairs.
He declared his intention to walk away from the club again unless he can work unaffected by the club politics of those in the boardroom.
And presumably that includes the effective termination of Bale’s Los Blancos career.
The Wales captain’s six-year Real stint has been injury hit, but his return of 102 goals in 231 games is highly respectable.
President Florentino Perez is now left between a rock and a hard place in regard to the club’s £85m signing.
Bale’s stratospheric wages of £13m-per-year represent a huge millstone around the club’s neck.
And according to The Times, Real are willing to let the 29-year-old leave for free, on condition that his new club inherit his enormous pay packet.
Earlier today, Zidane‘s side were condemned to a 2-0 home defeat by Real Betis as the La Liga season concluded.
Bale was an unused substitute for the defeat as his fall-out with the Frenchman hit a new low.
He did not even warm-up and ended the day heading straight down the tunnel as Madrid’s season ended in disgrace.
Zidane‘s return to the club he left last summer has not gone well.
Real Madrid team have picked up just 17 points from 11 games.
