Transfer market: Pellegrino: Lunin has said he would be keen on Leganes return
Transfer market Coach trusts in the player
Mauricio Pellegrino has spoken about the current situation involving Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who is on loan at Leganes from Real Madrid this season.
Leganes are currently in the process of negotiating another loan spell for the player with his parent club Real Madrid.
“With the Lunin case, it doesn’t depend on us, he doesn’t belong to us,” Pellegrino said.
“The club is working on it, he’s a boy that has developed a lot and we’re going to wait and see.
“I hope that he can continue to play with us.”
The former Southampton coach spoke about the club at an event organised by supporters groups of the Madrid club.
“It’s good that we have targets but the most important thing is to work on them and have an action plan,” he stated.
“Every year we have to ensure that the club stands in a better position.
“It’s the expectation that I want to leave here, right up until my last day at the club.”
Leganes have survived another season in the top flight, making it another successful season for the club, and the coach wanted to thank the fans at the event for their support all year.
“We believe that we have the duty to work hard for this club, the players and staff,” he noted.
The fans have created an energy at this club and we’re now seeing the fruits of that work come off in every corner of Spain.”
A question that every Leganes fan will want to ask if whether there will be movement in the transfer market this summer.
“You have to let people get on with their work,” he said.
“We hope to put another well equipped team for this league together.”
First team players Unai Bustinza, Ruben Perez and Alexander Szymanowski also attended the event.
“We have been united all season and we reached our goal of staying in the league,” said Perez.
