Phillipe Coutinho ‘put up for sale with Manchester United interested’
Italian media outlet Calciomercato report that the La Liga outfit are willing to sell the former Liverpool playmaker, although United — as well as Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain, who are also linked — haven’t yet made an offer.
United have been linked with the Brazilian for the past few months, though is contracted to Barcelona until 2023. His agent has dismissed the notion that Griezmann’s move will affect Coutinho’s future. MEN Sport also understands that a United swoop for Coutinho is unlikely at this stage, with the Reds targeting young homegrown talent in the transfer market, which opens on Thursday May 16.
Elsewhere, United have been linked with Mexico midfielder Carlos Rodriguez after reporting ‘holding talks’ with the Monterrey midfielder.
Rodriguez — who recently earned his first international cap — won the CONCACAF Champions League with Monterrey and has been linked with a move to Europe.
