Jamie Carragher sticks boot into Man Utd after Everton HORROR show: David Moyes claim made | Football | Sport
That is according to Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
United’s form has dipped considerably since the Champions League last-16 comeback win over Paris Saint-Germain in March.
Carragher says United’s recent run shows their real level and that the good start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not a true reflection of the squad’s ability.
He claims he has not seen a worse performance by a United side since he retired from playing the game and started working on TV.
And Carragher says that includes all matches under the man who replaced Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, Moyes.
“I actually questioned myself really because when it was turned around at Man United at the start under Solskjaer, you start thinking ‘I was wrong what I’ve been saying about these players for two or three years’.
“In some ways I’m happy with what I saw because I’ve though ‘No, I have been watching the same thing’.
“The blip was the three months of really playing well, that was the difference, this is the norm that we’ve been seeing for a few years.
“Five years ago David Moyes went to Goodison as a Man United manager, I think it’s five years to the day almost.
“They lost 2-0, he lost his job I think a couple of days later.
“I’m not saying about Solskjaer losing his job, but that performance [on Sunday] was a million times worse than what I saw on that day.
“Obviously since United last won the title, I joined Sky Sports, that is the worst performance I’ve seen I think from Man United in that time and that takes something.”
United are back in action on Wednesday when they host rivals Manchester City.
