Rangers boss Steven Gerrard reveals ONLY thing he can say about Ryan Kent Liverpool deal | Football | Sport
Gerrard admitted there are many things he is not sure about Kent’s situation, but he is clear on one thing.
And that is that the 38-year-old wants Kent back at Ibrox next season.
The winger is having a great season for the Gers this campaign and has scored six goals in 23 league games for the club.
However, Gerrard revealed he doesn’t even know what price the Reds have put on Kent’s head, or if they are willing to sell him.
“I don’t know what Liverpool value Ryan at,” Gerrard said.
“I don’t even know if Liverpool want to sell him or not.
“The only question I can answer on Ryan Kent is, ‘Do I want him back next year?’ – and the answer to that question is, ‘Yes, more than anyone’.”
As a result of the uncertainty surrounding Kent’s future Gerrard is also looking at other options, with another loan deal the most likely outcome.
“I have had a conversation with Liverpool about a number of players,” he added.
“That will remain private.
“Liverpool hold the cards with Ryan and all their players because they belong to them.
“We’ll have to wait and see how things develop.”
And the Rangers boss expects it to be a difficult match at Tynecastle Park.
“It will be a tough match, I am sure they are very confident after getting to the Scottish Cup Final,” Gerrard said.
“I am sure the spirit has been really good in their camp and Craig will have them really well drilled, they are a tough team to beat, very physical.
“It is a very intimidating atmosphere down at Tynecastle and I am sure their fans will be up for it.
“We need to be ready to face that challenge but remember that we are going there to play the Rangers way and that is to play football in the right way and to everything we can to win the game.
“I think the last two performances were really strong and we played some really good stuff in possession.”
