Championship transfer rumours: Leeds United chase midfielder, Aston Villa eye striker, Sheffield Wednesday bombshell
The Championship season may still have plenty to decide as teams across the league fight for promotion, the play-offs and to avoid relegation.
But as the summer transfer window approaches, clubs are also looking to the future and trying to improve their respective squads.
Here we take a look at the latest batch of transfer rumours ahead of the summer.
Leeds interested in midfielder
The Whites need just 10 points from their last four games to secure promotion to the Premier League and have already been linked with their first signing.
The versatile midfielder, 26, has been a regular figure for Sociedad ever since coming through the youth ranks in 2011 and has since gone on to make over 170 appearances for the La Liga outfit.
But having made just 10 league starts this season, it is believed that Pardo could well be on his way out of the Anoeta Stadium this summer, despite his current deal running out at the end of next season.
Villa want striker
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith wants to be reunited with Brentford striker Neil Maupay, should they secure promotion this season.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, to work with former boss Smith.
According to the Examiner Live, Villa remain firmly in the mix for the Frenchman’s signature, alongside Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough.
Ipswich linked with forward
Ipswich Town have been linked with Tranmere Rovers striker James Norwood.
The League Two top scorer is out of contract this summer and could be set to spearhead the Tractor Boys’ promotion campaign next season.
The 28-year-old has also attracted interest from Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town, according to HTIC reports.
Bruce drops bombshell
Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce has admitted that Jordan Rhodes’ long-term future remains up in the air.
The Owls record buy has spent the season on loan at Norwich City but has found his game time limited due to Teemu Pukki’s goal-scoring exploits.
With Wednesday looking to cut their cloth further this summer, Bruce conceded Rhodes’ future remains unclear and confirmed the club will sit down with the Canaries to discuss their plans for the 29-year-old.
