LaLiga Santander: Leganes keep the Champions League sides at bay
LaLiga Santander Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Real Madrid fail at Butarque
Leganes have managed to remain unbeaten at Estadio Municipal de Butarque when faced with the sides who qualified for the Champions League last season in Spain.
Leganes have made Butarque a fortress, winning seven, drawing seven and losing just twice, to Villarreal and Girona.
Real Madrid had managed to defeat Leganes 4-1 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in LaLiga Santander under Julen Lopetegui, before Santiago Solari‘s side eliminated them from the Copa del Rey (3-1 on aggregate), despite a 1-0 win for the hosts at Butarque.
With results like these against the top sides, Leganes could begin believing in a push for European football in future seasons.
