‘It’s hard’ – Aston Villa transfer set to end in relegation
Incoming Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert stands on the verge of relegation to Ligue 2 with Caen after yet another defeat.
Caen picked up their first Ligue 1 win since December 18 against Monaco recently but two further losses have followed to Nimes and Angers.
Guilbert, who signed for Villa in January before returning to Caen on loan for the remainder of the season, has been virtually an ever-present at right-back for the French minnows this season.

Caen have won just four times all season with their latest setback coming against Angers on Saturday.
Guilbert’s ambition of leaving Caen in the top tier of French football is now looking very unlikely.
Speaking recently, Guilbert said: “I have only one idea in mind, it is to leave the club in Ligue 1. I arrived in Ligue 1, I want to start again in Ligue 1. It’s the club of my region, I was formed here.
“It’s been three years now that I live this. It’s hard. I think we are in a slightly more complex situation than in previous years.
“We will have to fight, for our honour, for our pride, for the name we have on our backs. We will have to raise our heads and save this institution.”
