Easter Weekend Is Now Key – Leeds United Legend
Leeds United legend Eddie Gray believes the Easter weekend could go on to decide the fate of the Championship this season.
A 1-0 win for Leeds against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, coupled with Millwall taking a point at Sheffield United, means the Whites are now second in the league table and three points clear of the Blades.
With four games left in the season, Leeds are in a great position to earn automatic promotion to the Premier League and Gray believes the Whites are now within touching distance of their goal.
Leeds play Wigan at Elland Road on Good Friday and the former White feels the Easter Weekend is going to be decisive in deciding the fate of the promotion race.
The Whites have two home games left in the season and Gray feels winning the two fixtures must be of paramount importance for the team.
“The Easter weekend is usually the weekend that tells you who’s going to go up, who’s going to stay in the division and who’s going to be in the playoffs.
“We are in a great position going into the next home game against Wigan.
“You are looking at this as an opportunity to pick three points up again.
“And that’s what it is all about, winning your home games.”
Leeds also have two away games left, with Brentford and already relegated Ipswich Town set to welcome them before the end of the season.
