Wolves vs Manchester United TV stream: What time is kick-off? Who’s in the teams?

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United meet in a huge FA Cup quarter-final clash on Saturday evening.

Both teams are fighting on multiple fronts with Wolves chasing seventh spot in the Premier League and a first FA Cup triumph since 1960, and United still alive and kicking in the Champions League after their dramatic victory over PSG.

The focus in both camps is firmly on the FA Cup now, though, with a place in the semi-finals at Wembley up for grabs.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game:

Team news

As has been the case for much of this season, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has virtually a full squad to choose from.

Defender Ryan Bennett missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea due to suspension but he’s available for this cup clash. Romain Saiss stepped in at the back so Nuno will have to decide whether to reinstate Bennett or stick with the impressive Moroccan.

United have plenty of injury issues. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to field a makeshift back four at Molineux with the experienced Ashley Young suspended and Phil Jones a doubt.

Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are expected to miss out so Portuguese youngster Diogo Dalot could come in at right-back.

Alexis Sanchez isn’t likely to feature but Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera have returned to training.

Predicted XIs

Wolves (3-5-2): Ruddy; Bennett, Coady, Boly; Doherty, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny; Jimenez, Jota

United (4-3-3): Romero; Dalot, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Fred, Matic, Pogba; Rashford, Lukaku, Martial

What time is kick-off?

The match has been moved to the unfamiliar kick-off time of 7:55pm on Saturday evening to accommodate the BBC. Coverage on BBC One gets underway at 7:30pm.

It will also be available on local radio station BBC WM and BirminghamLive will have all of the usual post-match reaction available here.

Charlie Nicholas’ prediction – 2-2 (after 90 minutes)

“Wolves should have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this season easily. But they weren’t clinical enough.

“Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t change his team too much often, but this a serious competition Manchester United can go and win. Wolves have already beaten Liverpool.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be going for it but they do have injuries and issues at the back.”

Key men

Raul Jimenez has been a revelation for Wolves this year so it’s difficult to look past the Mexican.

He’s scored 14 goals in all competitions this season and two of those have been crucial strikes in the cup.

If Wolves are to advance to the semi-finals Jimenez is going to need to replicate his recent brilliance in front of goal.

United have a plethora of talent but two players have stood out since Solskjaer took the wheel – Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

On his day Pogba is one of the finest midfielders in the world and it promises to be some battle in the engine room with Wolves boasting Leander Dendoncker, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.

The referee

Martin Atkinson, who has taken charge of 23 Premier League games this season, will be the man in the middle.

Atkinson has only refereed two Wolves games this season. He took charge of the 1-1 draw with Manchester City in August and oversaw Wolves’ 1-0 win at Bristol City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

He’s been on duty for two Man United games, too. Atkinson was in charge for their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in December, which proved to be Jose Mourinho’s final game in charge, and he was in the middle for their recent win at Crystal Palace.

Atkinson will be assisted by Stephen Child and Constantine Hatzidakis while Roger East will act as fourth official.

This tie has also been given VAR by The FA, as has the clash between Watford and Crystal Palace.

Chris Kavanagh will be reviewing the action on VAR and he’ll be assisted by Derek Eaton.
