This Is Reason Behind Paul Pogba’s Form – Alan Pardew

Former West Ham and Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes Paul Pogba has benefited greatly from the change in style and tactics Manchester United have adopted under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The French midfielder lost his place in the team during the last days of Jose Mourinho’s time at Manchester United, but has been rejuvenated under the caretaker manager.

Pogba has scored eight goals and provided five assists in nine Premier League appearances under Solskjaer and Pardew feels it has a lot to do with the change in style at Old Trafford.

The former Newcastle boss believes admits Pogba has been playing much higher up the pitch in recent games and the position of the wingers and the other midfielders has also helped him to flourish.

Pardew told French sports daily L’Equipe: “He’s playing much higher up the pitch than when he was under Mourinho.

“And he’s benefitting from the fact that the winger are now much more attacking and [Nemanja] Matic and [Ander] Herrera are doing enormous work to cover him.”

The 57-year-old also believes Pogba is a talismanic figure for Manchester United and is a huge figure at Old Trafford.

“Pogba is to Manchester United what Neymar is at PSG or [Antoine] Griezmann is at Atletico.”

Pogba is expected to start when Manchester United host PSG in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie tonight.
