People Started To Write Him Off – Former Scotland Star On Celtic Attacker
Former Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough has indicated that some people were too quick to write off Scott Sinclair at Celtic.
Sinclair scored a hat-trick as Celtic hammered St. Johnstone on Sunday and reached the last eight of the Scottish Cup.
The former Manchester City and Aston Villa winger’s form has been up and down in recent seasons, but in recent games, the player has been showing glimpses of his old self.
He has continued to remain a certain starter in Brendan Rodgers’ eleven and his performances have picked up after a relatively slow start to the campaign at Celtic.
Rough admits that Sinclair did struggle with form recently, but indicated it was too early to write him off as a Celtic player.
He is pleased to see the winger get back his old touch and score goals for Celtic again.
Rough said on PLZ Soccer: “I have to say a lot of people were beginning to write him off there.
“He had a fantastic start a couple of years back when he came to Celtic and then for a season he went off the boil a bit.
“A lot of people said he’s unsettled and he wants to go back down to England, but he’s certainly got his form back now.
“He always seems to be in the right place at the right time.”
Sinclair has scored 59 goals and has 34 assists to his name in 145 appearances for Celtic since joining the club in 2016.
