Manchester United suffer Jesse Lingard injury blow in PSG Champions League fixture

Manchester United have been handed an injury blow after Jesse Lingard was forced off against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

United had started brightly against PSG in the first-leg of the Champions League fixture at Old Trafford with England international Lingard key to their pressing approach.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was dealt a blow in the first-half of the match when Lingard had to be substituted through injury.

The 26-year-old went down off the ball deep into the first-half after he had played a pass low across the ground. Lingard fell to the ground holding his left thigh before he eventually received treatment on the pitch following a stop in play.

Lingard attempted to carry on but was pictured grimacing through the pain before he signalled to be substituted in stoppage time of the first-half.

Alexis Sanchez came on to replace the England international with the score goalless after a hard fought opening 45 minutes.

Lingard walked off the pitch in stoppage time but it remains to be see what the true extent of his injury holds.

Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are the only other two current injury concerns for United after Solskjaer confirmed they would miss the European tie on Tuesday night.
