Man Utd coach Mike Phelan was FURIOUS with one player because of PSG ace Kylian Mbappe | Football | Sport
And, so far, there has been little between the two teams.
PSG are depleted with Mbappe their only regular striker in their attack. Galacticos Edinson Cavani and Neymar are both out through injury.
However, the World Cup winner has shown glimpses of his oustanding ability already at Old Trafford.
And, when Mbappe forced Ashley Young into conceding a foul, the United boss was livid.
He was seen making his way towards Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was standing on the touchline with his hands on his hips.
There, they exchanged a tense conversation and Phelan was seen pointing at Anthony Martial, who was standing on the left wing.
It appears he blamed Martial for failing to track Mbappe.
But United escaped and PSG failed to make the most of their World Cup winner’s stunning run.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer praised Mbappe before the game.
And he believes that comparisons between the France international and United star Marcus Rashford was understandable.
“Marcus is going to be a top-quality player,” Solskjaer said.
“I love working with him. I am sure PSG will look at Marcus the way we look at Mbappe – he’s one of the main threats
“Mbappe had a fantastic rise to stardom and he’s got a fantastic smile about him. A great enthusiasm.
“And there will understandably be comparisons.
“I have seen Mbappe live once and Marcus every single day.
“Strikers don’t really dominate football but the pair of them will have a massive impression on football for the next 10 years.
“They will really light it up.”
