Man Utd news: Anthony Martial reveals one advantage ahead of PSG Champions League clash | Football | Sport
He isn’t the only PSG casualty either.
Edinson Cavani and right-back Thomas Meunier are also unlikely to feature.
Powerful target man Cavani was sidelined taking a penalty against Bordeaux on Saturday.
A PSG statement read: “Medical examinations have revealed an injured tendon in Edinson’s right hip.
“The treatment of this injury and the length of his unavailability will depend on the evolution of the injury over the coming days.”
Martial says PSG’s mounting injury crisis could play into United’s hands.
He said: “Well no, I don’t think we are necessarily the favourites, but obviously they have a few absentees and that should be to our advantage, of course.
“But we also know that they’ve got plenty of very good players to come in.
“So, I think it’s still going to be a great game.
“It will be a great game and I can only hope that we win.”
United are performing impressively under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
They battered Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage and Marital – along with his compatriot Paul Pogba – were standout performers.
Martial says Solskjaer is allowing him to play with freedom.
“He’s asking me to attack more,” he added.
“That’s my job after all. To make the difference as it were, to be more decisive and, you know, things are working out pretty well at the moment for the other attackers as well, of course.
“I can only say that I hope we all continue to play like that.
“There’s a certain degree of rotation, but I hope we can continue to be as effective and efficient and continue to play at the top level.”
Solskjaer’s stunning impact on United has led to speculation that he could take the job full time.
When asked if victory in the next three games will see him get the nod full time, he replied: “That is too simple.
“You need to think of a different way to ask the question.
“There are a few more months of season for me to do whatever I can do for the club.”
