Barcelona news: President hints at shock Real Madrid transfer ahead of El Clasico

The Bernabeu ace has fallen out of favour in recent months after the arrival of Santiago Solari.

Isco has always insisted he wants to remain at Real Madrid but has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent months, with Manchester City firm favourites to acquire his signature.

And now Barcelona president Bartomeu has been asked about a shock bid for Isco’s services in the future – and he hinted it would be tempting.

“If our coaches asked us for a player and they want to leave Madrid, of course, we would sign them,” he told Spanish newspaper El Partidazo.

“But it has not happened since I’ve been here.

“There are no non-aggression pacts. Each one tries to make their team more competitive.

“Isco? For the sake of Real Madrid, I would speak with the president (Florentino Perez).”

Isco continues to struggle for game time in the Spanish capital.

And speaking to AS recently, current Spain and former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique claimed the midfielder may have to move to save his place in the national side.

“I’m a huge admirer of Isco,” he said.

“When you look at the performances at the World Cup, nobody played better than him and he has featured in most of the six games we have had since then.

“His quality and ability is not in doubt but he needs to play regularly at club level if he is to be a regular in the national squad because of the level we have.”

Isco has hit the headlines this week after appearing to sulk after Madrid’s win over Alaves.

The City target only came off the bench for the final few minutes and was seen snubbing staff members on his way towards the tunnel at full-time.
