Atletico Madrid: Simeone takes a strong squad to Girona
Atletico Madrid Will keep faith with usual suspects
Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone is taking the Copa del Rey last 16 tie against Girona seriously, as shown by his squad list for the game at Montilivi on Wednesday evening.
Antonio Adan will come in for Jan Oblak in goal, while Nikola Kalinic and Vitolo Machin will both play in attack, allowing Antoine Griezmann some much-needed time off.
The rest of the team, however, will not differ too much from the usual line-up that Simeone employs.
Without Filipe Luis and Lucas Hernandez through injury, Juanfran Torres or Francisco Montero will feature at left-back, with that being one of the few doubts for the Argentine.
Elsewhere, Santiago Arias will start at right-back with Jose Gimenez appearing alongside Diego Godin; Saul Niguez and Rodri will form the engine room in the middle of the park; and Thomas Lemar will keep his spot on the left wing.
On the right of midfield, the coach is torn between Koke and Thomas Partey, though it appears that the latter is the man who will earn the start.
