Man Utd news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a BAD appointment because of one player
That is according to talkSPORT pundit and former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan.
But there was also been plenty of unrest amongst the squad when Mourinho was in charge.
France international Paul Pogba most notably fell out with the former boss.
Jordan believes Pogba is to blame for his own struggles on the pitch.
But he does not think Solskjaer is the right manager to get things going in the right direction.
“Planet football is a very insulated and isolated world in terms of people being cut off from reality of how the rest of the world sees them,” Jordan said.
“He [Pogba] clearly sees himself in a certain way, he clearly sees himself as being able to do no wrong.
“He believes the hype, believes the fact that he was the reason why France won the World Cup, that he was an integral part of everything that’s good around things that reverberate around him.
“When in fact he is, at this moment in time, a very average player at best, who seems to be very divisive.
“Going to Solskjaer managing Manchester United through this difficult period, I’m sorry if Ed Woodward thinks and the people at Man United that Solskjaer’s going to take this ship and sail it in the right direction for the benefit of Manchester United and give them some real progress, then he should go back to bed and sleep on it.
“And if he wakes up in the morning and thinks it’s a good idea, he should go back to bed again.
“I just don’t think Solskjaer’s the right guy for this job.”
